Kollam, formerly known also as Quilon, is an ancient centre of culture and maritime trade.Graced by the Arabian sea and blessed with the famous backwaters of Ashtamudi lake, Kollam is a great tourist centre as well. The city of Kollam gained its lost place of pride in modern times with the establishment of the Sree Narayana Colleges by Sri. R. Sankar. The Sree Narayana Educational Society, established in 1986, has contributed considerably to the educational revival of this ancient city.The organizers launched the Sree Narayana College of Technology in 2003.
